Think again not a platnium standard hotel

This hotel is listed by TUI as a platinum hotel, but this is far from the truth. It is a decent enough 3* but has had better 3*. The staff are superb from the bar, cleaning to the restaurant, they are helpful and nothing too much trouble. But the same cannot be said for the food in the main restaurants (pool bar and main restaurant), it is ok but can be undercooked (sometimes raw) or burnt and usually the same menu every night. It's hard to get a good portion from the chef on the roast meat. section. But theres usually good fish, fruit, cheeses and lots of smoked salmon at breakfast. There are

Terrible food

We were looking forward to staying here as we've been to a few riu hotels Touareg in boa vista and riu guancaste in Costa Rica to name a couple and this hotel was no where near the same standard, the entertainment team were only interested in talking to the Portuguese guests, the food was poor and the 3 a la carte restaurants were very poorly organised and the food was poor (see pictures) but even the buffet the queues were shocking no matter what time you went down for your meal, in one instance my wife went for bacon and the tray was empty so she stood waiting and was told 10 minutes she rep

Dodgy tummies

The hotel overall was nice: good service, rooms and nice food and drink. Plenty slushies for the kind. It was very windy when we were there in April, often uncomfortably so, especially on the beach. The 2 adults in our party had dodgy tums throughout the stay, which took another week to settle after we returned home. The 3rd person, a child did not have this problem, probably because she mainly ate pancakes, pizza and chips... We have been to quite a few countries, including Egypt and Turkey and never had this issue.. For that reason I would not return or recommend.
